Grand Vitara 2.5L años 1999 a 2005 - Reemplazo de cadena de tiempo
TIMING CHAIN, REPLACE
1.Drain engine oil and coolant into suitable containers.
2.Remove intake manifold as outlined below:
a.Place manual transmission models in Neutral or automatic transmission models in Park, then set parking brake and block drive wheels.
b.Disconnect fuel pump relay.
c.Remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapor pressure in tank, then install cap.
d.Start and run engine until it stalls. Repeat cranking engine three times for three seconds each time to dissipate fuel pressure in fuel lines.
e.Drain engine coolant into suitable containers.
f.Remove accelerator and throttle cables from throttle body.
g.Remove strut tower bar and surge tank cover.
h.Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector, then remove air cleaner upper case, intake air hose, intake air pipe and surge tank pipe as an assembly.
i.Disconnect hoses from throttle body.
j.Disconnect injector harness connector.
k.Disconnect brake booster hose from intake manifold.
l.Disconnect Throttle Position (TP), Manifold Air Flow (MAF) and Intake Air Control (IAC) electrical connectors.
m.Disconnect ground terminal from intake collector.
n.Remove clamp bracket from intake collector.
o.Disconnect electrical connectors from sensors attached to intake manifold.
p.Disconnect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose and breather hoses from valve cover.
q.Disconnect EVAP purge valve hoses, then remove EGR pipe.
r.Disconnect fuel feed and return lines.
s.Remove throttle body and intake collector from intake manifold.
t.Remove eight intake manifold bolts and four nuts.
u.Remove intake manifold.
3.Remove valve covers.
4.Remove cooling fan, clutch and water pump pulley.
5.Remove radiator and thermostat cap.
6.Remove power steering and A/C drive belts.
7.Remove power steering pump and bracket.
8.Raise and support vehicle with jack stand.
9.Remove oil pan as outlined below:
a.Remove oil level gauge guide.
b.Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.
c.Remove power steering gear assembly.
d.On models equipped with 4WD,remove front differential housing.
e.On all models, drain engine oil into suitable container.
f.Remove lower oil pan from upper oil pan.
g.Remove oil strainer bracket.
h.Detach radiator outlet pipe from upper oil pan.
i.Remove upper oil pan bolts.
j.Lower oil pan and allow to rest on strainer and crossmember.
k.Remove oil strainer through opening between oil pan and lower crankcase.
l.Remove oil pan.
10.Lock crankshaft pulley and remove bolt using camshaft pulley holder tool No. 09917-68221, or equivalent.
11.Remove crankshaft pulley using suitable puller.
12.Remove CKP sensor.
13.Remove timing chain cover.
14.Rotate crankshaft to align timing marks as outlined, Fig. 1.
15.Remove No. 3 timing chain adjuster, Fig. 2.
16.Hold camshaft at hexagonal area and remove sprocket bolts using suitable wrench.
17.Remove camshaft sprockets, then left bank timing chain.
18.Remove timing chain guide Nos. 1 and 2, Fig. 3.
19.Remove No. 1 timing chain adjuster, Fig. 3.
20.Remove No. 1 idler sprocket and timing chain.
21.Remove No. 2 idler sprocket and sprocket shaft.
22.Remove timing chain tensioner.
23.Hold camshaft at hexagonal area and remove sprocket bolt using suitable wrench.
24.Remove timing chain camshaft and crankshaft sprockets.
25.Remove timing chain guide No. 3, Fig. 4.
26.Remove camshaft housing bolts in order outlined, Fig. 5.
27.Remove camshafts and chain as an assembly.
28.Remove No. 2 tensioner adjuster, Fig. 4.
29.Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a.Torque camshaft housing bolts to 108 inch lbs. using sequence, Fig. 6.
b.Refer to Fig. 7 for sprocket timing alignment marks.
c.Torque timing chain cover to 96 inch lbs.
d.Torque timing chain guide No. 1 to 96 inch lbs.
e.Torque timing chain tensioner No. 1 to 19 ft. lbs.
f.Torque timing chain tensioner adjuster No. 1 to 96 inch lbs.
g.Torque timing chain No. 2 tensioner bolt to 96 inch lbs.
h.Torque timing chain No. 2 tensioner stud to 33 ft. lbs.
i.Torque (B) bolts to 96 inch lbs. and (C) bolts to 20 ft. lbs., Fig. 8.
