Chrysler 200 2.4L 4cil EDG 2011/2014
TIMING CHAIN, REPLACE
1.Set engine to TDC.
2.Remove valve cover.
3.Raise and support vehicle.
4.Remove righthand lower splash shield.
5.Remove accessory drive belt.
6.Remove lower A/C compressor retaining bolts, then A/C compressor and position aside.
7.Remove A/C compressor lower bracket.
8.Remove accessory drive belt lower idler pulley.
9.Remove crankshaft damper.
10.Remove water pump pulley.
11.Remove engine mount bracket lower bolt.
12.Remove timing chain cover lower bolts, Fig. 1.
13.Lower vehicle.
14.Remove power steering line support.
15.Remove power steering pump and position aside.
16.Support engine with a suitable jack and a block of wood under oil pan.
17.Remove three righthand engine mount to mount bracket bolts.
18.Remove righthand engine mount bracket.
19.Remove accessory drive belt tensioner.
20.Remove timing chain cover retaining bolts.
21.Remove timing chain cover using pry points, Fig. 2.
22.Remove timing chain cover out through bottom of vehicle, Fig. 3.
23.Mark chain link corresponding to camshaft timing mark, Fig. 4. If timing chain plated links can no longer be seen, timing chain links corresponding to timing marks must be marked prior to removal if chain is to be reused.
24.Mark chain link corresponding to crankshaft timing mark, Fig. 5.
25.Remove timing chain tensioner, then guides.
26.Remove timing chain.
27.Reverse procedure to install, note following:
a.Apply sealer to cylinder head to block parting line, Fig. 6.
b.Apply sealer to ladder frame to block parting line, Fig. 7.
c.Apply sealer to corner of engine block parting line and oil pan, Fig. 8.
d.Apply .079 inch bead of sealer to engine block, Fig. 9.
e.Torque M6 upper timing chain cover bolts to 80 inch lbs.
f.Torque M8 upper timing chain cover bolts to 19 ft. lbs.
g.Torque timing chain guide bolts to 105 inch lbs.
h.Torque moveable timing chain pivot guide bolt to 105 inch lbs.
i.Torque timing chain tensioner bolts to 105 inch lbs.
