TIMING CHAIN REPLACE
1.Remove crankcase front cover as described in "Front Cover, Replace."
2.Align marks on crankshaft sprocket and camshaft sprocket, Fig. 1.
3.Remove timing chain tensioner upper bolt, then loosen timing chain tensioner Torx as far as possible, but do not remove.
4.Remove camshaft sprocket and timing chain.
5.Using puller tool No. J 22888-20, or equivalent, remove crankshaft sprocket.
6.Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.Compress tensioner spring, then install a cotter pin or nail into hole A as shown in Fig. 2.
b.Lube timing chain and sprockets with engine oil, lube thrust surface with camshaft assembly lube No. 1052365, or equivalent.
c.Align marks on camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with tabs on tensioner as shown in Fig. 2.
d.Align dowel in camshaft with dowel hole camshaft sprocket.
e.Draw camshaft sprocket onto camshaft using the attaching bolt. Tighten to specifications.
